Worth using Splinter Wep+Barrage? - Guild Wars Forums

Hey, I was just wondering, is it REALLY worth going Ranger/Rit for Splinter Wep, the reason I ask is, the damage doesn't seem all that different to what Barrage would do on its on..can someone explain why then both is used? Is it because of the armor ignoring dmg gives more consistant dmg on say..80ar targets, than barrage would..

Give Splinter Weapon to a hero, that's the best way to do it in my opinion. And yes, it does work quite well with Barrage, as Barrage lets you hit a bunch of enemies and SW will recognize each of those hits as a separate attack. So it can easily dish out a bunch of extra damage.

splinter weapon does armor ignoring damage to up to 3 adjacent foes. add that in with the 6 attacks you get from barrage, and its alot of Armor ignoring damage.

so imagine splinter weapon triggering on every target in a group of 4+ enemies. each enemy will radiate the damage, which means every enemy will take 150+ damage.

to answer the question yes it is worth it. do i use splinter barrage personally? hardly ever. i've never been a fan of barrage.

Personally, id take a [conjure flame][conjure frost][conjure lightning], give splinter weapon to a n/rt hero, and give him [mark of pain] and then blow shit up to your hearts content. Remember to make sure MoP is used if you want to do alot of aoe damage.

(a headache clouded the fact that the extra damage from conjure would trigger on all the other foes and not MoP)

In PvE it's godly. *ALSO* give a copy to a hero.

PvP I think it's be worthless - unless you play nubs PvP...

yes its worth it...pretty consistant AoE armor ignoring damage and rangers are susposed to be the utility class so splinter barrage is only 2 skills. you should have a interupt or 2 and maybe a spirit or something. i prefer glass arrow spiker since i normally play with h/h and its better to spike in pve imo
